My visit in Berlin and the meeting with Luis Moreno-Ocampo, lead prosecutor at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, will hopefully have consequences!

In an personal conversation I informed Luis Moreno-Ocampo of the fact that political parties in Sierra Leone are utilising FGM in their election campaigns by financing free mass mutilations. You can find the reports about this in my news-archive.

The dedicated lead prosecutor reacted just as I had hoped he would: as soon as the reports would be verified, he would investigate a prosecution.

This step would be immensely important for our fight for a future free of FGM.
